About
The Racial Diversity Collaborative is comprised of a group of nonprofit leaders within the Baltimore-Washington region that together work to support and expand the number of leaders of color in significant nonprofit leadership positions throughout the region. This effort is supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation through an Innovative Practice Fund originally managed by Fieldstone Alliance.

It is a true collaboration of leaders of all races and ethnic groups from all sectors. The initial focus for attention is the nonprofit sector. Discussions with foundation, nonprofit, for profit and government leaders have resulted in more clarity on the challenge and a beginning picture of the desired outcomes. Possible success measures are fairly straight forward and include:
  1. Increased retention of current leaders of color now serving the nonprofit sector.
  2. Growth in the number of significant leadership roles and retention of leaders of color in chief executive positions, senior management positions and board leadership positions.
  3. Growth in leaders of color in positions that lead to chief executive positions, senior management positions and board leadership positions.
Our Mission
To advance the effectiveness of the nonprofit sector through more diverse leadership where leaders of color are increasingly visible as top leaders and board members of leading nonprofit organizations throughout the Baltimore-Washington region.

Our Goal
To be a catalyst for actions including research, social networking, website, and pilot projects that increase the retention and selection of leaders of color in leadership positions within the nonprofit sector.
